A RESEARCH-BASED STARTING PATH
Plan a small, verifiable project launch
Start by identifying what must run after launch. Static pages need asset hosting. Apps with server code or managed data need additional runtime or backend services. Confirm commercial-use terms and ongoing allowances for the route you choose.
Can the project be served as static assets?
A directory like Build Stack can serve HTML, CSS, JavaScript and JSON without application server functions. A static route keeps its hosting requirements small.
For a new Cloudflare project, evaluate Workers Static Assets first. Cloudflare Pages remains relevant to existing Pages workflows. Cloudflare currently recommends Workers for new projects.
Vercel offers managed deployment and preview workflows. Its free Hobby plan is restricted to non-commercial personal use. A commercial project needs an eligible paid route.
Does the app need runtime or a backend?
Server-side code, authentication, a database or file storage introduces separate responsibilities. Supabase supplies managed backend components. You still build the interface and design access controls.
Check compute, storage, data transfer and inactivity limits. Budget for the running service as well as creating the app. Replit’s publishing notes distinguish build usage from ongoing publishing and database usage.
Check allowances before calling a plan free
Check commercial-use conditions, build allowances, traffic limits, expiry and overage behavior. A free generation allowance is not unlimited production hosting. A source-code download does not include every service that a running app depends on.
Use the official pricing links in each profile. Record the plan you actually select and who is responsible for monitoring its limits.
Release one small version you can inspect
Verify the main user journey, internal links and asset loading. Check mobile layout, keyboard access and error states. Review data access and production configuration. Check that sources and pricing descriptions are current.
On the real hosted address, inspect HTTP headers, robots.txt and search access through the CDN. Treat search indexing and model-training permissions as separate decisions. Do not weaken account security or blanket-allow bots to chase citations.
Check what conversion actions actually do. A mailto click opens an email app. It is not a submitted lead or proof that a message was sent.
