A RESEARCH-BASED STARTING PATH
Build with AI when you cannot code
Choose the kind of thing you need before choosing a builder. A marketing website, a web app and a mobile app create different demands. Start with one small workflow that you can explain and check.
Do you need a marketing website?
A portfolio, landing page or content site usually needs pages, layout and a way to publish. Framer is a visual website option. Check its CMS, domain and capacity allowances. Framer does not provide a standalone HTML export for self-hosting.
Do you need an interactive web app?
If people need to enter information or complete a workflow, consider a web-app builder. Compare Lovable, Bolt and Replit through their sourced profiles. v0 can also create interface code that continues into a web-development workflow.
Describe one user, one task and the expected result. Test that result before adding more screens. Database access, authentication and private information still need technical review.
Do you need a native mobile app?
Choose this route when an app-store release is part of the requirement. FlutterFlow offers visual cross-platform app building. Bolt’s Expo route should be specified at the beginning of a mobile project. Store releases require extra setup, developer accounts and review.
A web app that looks good on a phone is not automatically a native mobile project. Lovable’s output is a web app. Read the platform limits before committing.
Separate code export from backend migration
Downloading source code and moving a running service are different jobs. Check what your plan lets you export. Then check how databases, uploaded files, secrets and account integrations would move.
Lovable’s portability notes explain that exported code does not automatically move backend data and secrets. FlutterFlow’s export notes explain generated-branch limits. Ask who will maintain the exported project.
Choose a first version you can verify
Write down what success looks like for one task. Check it with realistic inputs. Check the mobile layout and keyboard access. Review generated code and data access before collecting sensitive information. A beginner-friendly start does not remove production responsibilities.
